Jubilee at the Vets

Here we are at the Allergy Vets office down in Middle Earth (Forest Hill Blvd., which feels like Middle Earth to me).  Jubilee is doing ok now, staying on her current medication.  The vet is going to contact the company that formulated her custom allergy medicine which almost killed her when we went to the 2nd stage.  She acted like she had been poisoned (not eating, not drinking, not scratching, only hiding in the far corner of the back room for 10 days), and I thought that she was dying.  Anyway, she's barely scratching at all now, and back to her old self even if she can't see!

Nothing to do in those Vet waiting rooms but photograph your dog!

  1. Allergies are a bummer. Great that Jubilee's allergies are under control now. That custom medicine must have really bothered him.

Humphrey has a mild allergy. I think it is due to the dryness in the air because it is more apparent in winter and goes away in the summer. A witch-y vet (not his regular vet) insisted it was a food allergy and screamed at me for feeding him a raw diet. On her advice, I switched him from chicken+rabbit to only rabbit. The scratching went away for a while, but it has returned along with the cold weather. Arrgh!

    1. THey always want to tell you that it is food. Jubilee's are definitely related to the vegetation. She has NO allergies in winter in PA. However if she stays in FL she seems to develop a tolerance that she can live with. It is only when I take her away and then bring her back that she has such a bad reaction.
