Matthew's Baptism and party

On Saturday night we baptized the newest member of the family, Matthew James Felsen - the 4th son of Michael and Jenny.  It was held at Mary Ann's (Joe's sister) Church in Carlsbad, California: St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church.   A lovely church with a very friendly and welcoming congregation.
The altar cross changed colors as it was lighted from behind.  This is the baptismal font at the back of the church.

 Cool altar boy.
Jenny and Aunt JoAnn getting Matthew dressed.  He is wearing the same gown that Joe wore at his Baptism, and then Michael, Greg and Jonathan were also dressed in this gown for their baptisms.

Altar boy has been joined by an altar girl.
Joe and FA talking to Nick.  Nick and Michael attended the University of San Diego together.  We remembered Nick from the wedding in Charleston.  He also was one of the candidates on the Donald Trump TV show, The Apprentice.  I hope he wasn't embarrassed when I told him I remembered that.

This is Valentina with her brother, Carlos and Jack.
 Uncle Jon and Aunt Heather.
Valentina is a real Mexican beauty!
There is a very sweet story that goes with the godparents, Sergio and Adrianna Rubio.  Michael and Sergio met at Georgetown Prep when they were both borders at Jesuit Georgetown Prep in Washington DC.  Sergio was from Mexico City.  The 2 young scholars, both so young (14 years old!) and away from home for the first time, bonded and have been friends ever since.

Sergio and Adrianna met when they were 9 years old and (according to Adrianna) knew at that time that they would one day be married.  They were boyfriend/girlfriend until they were 26-27 years old, and married.

There was a full moon out when we left the church.
Big party followed at the Pacific beach house ….

 The godfather and godmother!

Greg made it!
