Ghost Ranch

Our timing was off with the tours of the Georgia O’Keeffe home in Abiqui. Tours are only on Tuesday through Saturday (this was Monday), and they were already booked up for the rest of the week. They are very protective of this site, and you can only get there by tour bus - no drive ups allowed. They won’t even tell you where it is.

Since I couldn't finalize any of our reservations until after the Gamma Knife thing, we feel fortunate to just be here!  The biggest disappointment has been the closure of the National Parks, but that's another story.

So we headed out on our own. Before she bought her home in Abiqui, Georgia spent most summers and autumns at Ghost Ranch. It was just up the road from the Abiqui Inn. We figured it to be a dude ranch of sorts -- not exactly a resort, but a place with cabins and some communal activities. There was a “farm” and some animals, trails and horseback riding.

 I loved photographing these sheep!

Not much of meditation space, if you ask me ...

  1. What spectacular scenery! From your clothing, I deduce you had some coolish weather. I could develop a love for the desert.

    1. And the cloudless blue skies! Is that typical?
